COURSE OBJECTIVES

After the completion of the training, the attendant should have a refreshed knowledge of:

1) Human factors and its importance to the aviation industry. The relationship between human factors and incidents largely in terms of human error.

2) Key physical and mental human performance characteristics which are likely to affect an aircraft maintenance engineer in his/her working environment, such as his/her vision, hearing, information processing, attention and perception, memory, judgment and decision making.

3) Issues relating to the social context in which the aircraft maintenance engineer works. This includes the organisation in which he/she works and how responsibilities may be delegated, motivation, and aspects of team working, supervision and leadership.

4) Other factors that may also impinge on the engineers/technicians, potentially rendering them less able to carry out their work and attain the levels of safety required. These include fitness and health, stress, time pressures, workload, fatigue and the effects of medication, alcohol and drugs.

5) The impact of noise, fumes, illumination, climate and temperature, motion and vibration, as well as the requirement to work in confined spaces and issues associated with the general working environment.

6) The nature of the tasks that aircraft maintenance engineers carry out, looking at the physical work, repetitive tasks, visual inspection and the complex systems that they work on.

7) The various aspects of communication that affect the aircraft maintenance engineer.

8) Managing human error in aircraft maintenance.

9) Potential hazards in the aircraft maintenance industry.

Personnel involved in the performance, planning, management and audit of aircraft and components maintenance, as required by 145.A.30 of Commission Regulation (EU) № 1321/2014, Annex II (Part 145)

COURSE CONTENT

In accordance with Commission Regulation (EU) № 1321/2014, Part 66, Appendix III and Part 145, p. 145.A.30, last amended by Commission Regulation (EU) № 2018/1142.

COURSE DURATION

It will take you up to 8 hours to get acquainted with educational content.

EXAMINATION

The course is delivered in an interactive format with an end of course 8 multi-choice questions examination. The Pass mark is 75%.

COMPLETION

On successful completion of the course you will receive a certificate of completion by email.
